About Sleep Help Center

An independent resource for people who want to sleep better, understand what's going on at night, and know when it's time to ask for help.

Why we exist

Almost everyone has a season of poor sleep: a new baby, a night shift, a worry that won't let go, a body that's changing with age. Good information is out there, but it's scattered across medical journals, product reviews, and social media posts that don't always agree.

Sleep Help Center brings the practical pieces together in one calm, trustworthy place. We focus on what you can actually do: free tools to track your sleep, clear guides to better habits, honest advice on bedroom products, and plain explanations of sleep disorders so you can recognize when self-help isn't enough.

What we are, and what we are not

We are not a medical facility

Despite our name, Sleep Help Center is not a sleep clinic or sleep lab. We don't diagnose, treat, or run sleep studies, and nothing on this site replaces care from a qualified professional. If you're looking for a sleep study, our guide explains how to find an accredited sleep center.

We are an educational publisher. Our goal is to help you sleep better on your own where that's possible, and to help you have a better-informed conversation with your doctor where it isn't.

Our editorial standards

  • Primary sources first. Health information is based on guidance from organizations such as the American Academy of Sleep Medicine, the National Institutes of Health, the CDC, MedlinePlus, and the VA, along with peer-reviewed research. Every education article lists its sources.
  • Dated and reviewed. Articles show when they were last reviewed. We revisit health content when guidance changes.
  • No invented numbers or reviews. We don't publish fake testimonials, made-up statistics, or "lab test" claims for products we haven't tested.
  • Clear limits. We point out when a problem needs professional care, and we don't give medication or supplement dosing advice.
  • Corrections welcome. If you spot an error, please tell us. We'll review it promptly and update the page.

How we keep the lights on

Our tools and guides are free. We support the site through a small number of clearly labeled affiliate links in product guides, optional digital products like the 30-Night Sleep Reset Journal, and, in the future, advertising. Affiliate relationships never determine what we recommend. Read our affiliate disclosure.

Privacy by design

Sleep is personal. Our Sleep Diary and other tools store what you enter only in your own browser. We don't require accounts, and we never see your entries. Read our privacy policy.
